The People That You Meet...

Yesterday my Father and I took the train to Whistler aboard The Whistler Mountaineer (stay tuned for a future post called "Mock the Commentator").

On the return we sat beside another Father & Daughter visiting BC from San Diego... We chatted and I shared what I could remember about tourist activities and attractions, suitable for a 9 year old, from my Concierge days and by the end of our 4 hour trip we exchanged information. Don't you love how RANDOM life can be when you are open to meeting new people?

It turns out that Kartik Seshadri is a "Sitar Virtuoso" who travels the world sharing his music.

Most recently, Seshadri collaborated on the Orion project with the noted composer Philip Glass and the Brazilian group UAKTI with worldwide performances ranging from the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park and Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York to the Cervantino Festival in Mexico and Australia’s Melbourne International Arts Festival.

It was a pleasure to briefly spend time with Kartik and his beautiful daughter Mallika. How inspiring to meet someone who is successful at sharing their talent with the world! I sincerely hope they enjoy the rest of their vacation experience in Vancouver. P.
