The guilty pleasure of a sad film...

This lovely quiet little film was on TV tonight and it brings me right back to the summer of 1998 when I was in the midst of my separation with my now, ex-husband. The Soundtrack is groovy, sexy, poetic, airy and haunting and to this day is still one of my all time favorite compilations.

If you need a good cry rent the DVD. If you need a good cry but have no privacy, pick up the CD and give yourself the gift of a long drive... Long enough for you to experience the full range of emotions induced by this powerful and etherial soundtrack. xo P.

P.S. Credit Trivia:

Music By - Gabriel Yared, he is the Composer of the 3 instrumental tracks played through-out the film and placed at the end of the CD. He is known for other melancholy scores for such films as Cold Mountain, English Patient and the Talented Mr. Ripley - just to name a few!

Music Supervisor - Danny Bramson has been labelled as Cameron Crowe's Music Guru due to the fact he produced the soundtracks for Almost Famous, Vanilla Sky, Jerry Maguire and the classic - Say Anything. All excellent compilations, no wonder I loved this!

What is a Music Supervisor? AKA Music Coordinator or Musical Director. Simply they combine music & visual media. Specifically, they are the person who coordinates the work of the composer, the editor and the sound mixers.
